Everyone thinks it\u2019s Mary you love<\/p>

but you look at us all<\/p>

with those eyes, that look,<\/p>

your love so infinite and divine<\/p>

it is total for each of us<\/p>

and particular for all.<\/p>

But are you not also a man like me<\/p>

who longs for small intimacies \u2013<\/p>

a look exchanged<\/p>

a knowing word<\/p>

an embrace in plain sight<\/p>

filled with private ferocity<\/p>

clasped tightly between us<\/p>

heart to heart?<\/p>

I am small beside your greatness<\/p>

but your love magnifies me;<\/p>

I am unworthy to receive you<\/p>

but our worth beyond measure<\/p>

is the gospel you live<\/p>

the revelation of your word<\/p>

the Apocalypse.<\/p>

This Greek we try to speak \u2013<\/p>

you better than I \u2013<\/p>

has all these words<\/p>

\u2013 philia, storge, eros, agape<\/em> \u2013<\/p>

and yet no word<\/p>

for what I feel for you<\/p>

and know of you<\/p>

and want from you \u2013<\/p>

love<\/em> \u2013 this hurting, healing thing \u2013<\/p>

there is no Word at all for this<\/p>
