I\u2019m not convinced of<\/p>

resurrection, even<\/p>

one where scars<\/p>

remain \u2013 but dancing is<\/p>

my favorite prayer,<\/p>

not to quell<\/p>

the ghosts or<\/p>

close the wounds,<\/p>

but to take<\/p>

the risk of<\/p>

not-yet-dead<\/p>

(the risk of life<\/p>

in finite form).<\/p>

here we find<\/p>

liberation in<\/p>

bodies abandoned,<\/p>

the phoenix-flamed<\/p>

idol of<\/p>

resilience<\/p>

stays <\/em><\/p>

broken<\/em>.<\/p>

end, stuck time<\/p>

can\u2019t be escaped:<\/p>

still, life overflows<\/p>

in a landscape<\/p>

Skyler Jay Keiter-Massefski<\/strong> is a theological anthropologist whose work focuses on the sign of the ghost as it relates to trans embodiment, grief as a facet of identity formation, and practices of experimental and poetic ethnography. They have a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University.
