An outdated Comfort Inn sign<\/h2>\n

commands us all to be thankful
even though\u00a0the Comfort Inn itself\u00a0
has been plowed into an empty\u00a0
snowy parking lot\u00a0and hardly seems\u00a0
one to speak.\u00a0I have learned\u00a0
to be content in all things,\u00a0Paul says\u00a0
in that verse, an art the\u00a0sign\u00a0has seemed\u00a0
to grasp but I\u00a0am still\u00a0failing in. Will I be\u00a0
alive tomorrow? Will I write more words?\u00a0
It is almost Thanksgiving
in upstate New York and it\u2019s started\u00a0
to snow again\u2014like it does in the movies\u2014
and this is the part where I\u2019m supposed to see
the magic in each flake but all I can focus on
are the\u00a0grey awful\u00a0mounds\u00a0
shoveled by the side of the road.\u00a0I want
to think my words will let me live forever.\u00a0
I have been given\u00a0everything yet still I long\u00a0
for\u00a0everything;\u00a0even blessed\u00a0
I long for blessings.<\/p>\n
